Vlog...I'm Going to BEA. Shelf Awareness Reviewing. And More...



So another vlog for you all today. Is it pronounced "vee-log" or "vlawg?" Just curious...

A breakdown of the vlog - I'm going to BEA, I'm a freelance reviewer now for Shelf Awareness, A Young Wife by Pam Lewis is *awesome* so far. And reviews coming soon: Exit the Actress by Priya Parmar is fabulous, the audios for The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks and Never Let Me Go will keep you thinking about it for days...

    Ooh congrats on shelf awareness! That's so exciting!!! I loved The Immortal of Henrietta Lacks and was surprised at how a story about cancer cells could genuinely maintain my interest for so long, LOL! I read one other Pam Lewis book (speak softly, she can hear) and it creeped me out. I don't remember what about it but it b/c it was a few years ago at least, but it scared me and made me uncomfortable (not the author's fault, just he story) so I haven't picked anything else up by her.

    Ack! So jealous! I just haven't been able to figure out the logistics to allow me to come to BEA. Unless I get a full-time nanny. So you have fun and make sure you report back.

    Couldn't agree more with you on Henrietta and the audio. Our book club read it and we were FEVERISH in our discussion. I did not listen to Never Let Me Go, but I read it years ago before blogging and it haunted me. In a good way.

    Oh wow! Congratulations on your gig with Shelf Awareness and the fact that you are going to BEA! I wanted to go this year, but things just didn't work out for me. I am still hoping to get there one of these years! I am also way impressed with you for landing a role at Shelf Awareness. It couldn't have happened to a better reviewer, or a nicer person!

    I can't wait to see you there! If we don't meet up on Thursday, I'll be on the lookout for you at BBC for sure.

    I cannot wait to read The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. When I first heard about it, I was so intrigued. I might pick up the audiobook, since you say it is very well read. Never Let Me Go was a phenomenal book. I read it and couldn't get it out of my head.
