Lack of Reviews Lately? Here's Why...

I'm almost hysterical with laughter at the absurdity. Moving is already something that causes complete hilarity at all of the last minute I-can't-believe-that-just-happened nonsense, but now this?

The movers will be here today. We are moving from Florida to Virginia. We are ready to go.

But here's the ultimate ridiculousness of recent events: that lil hussy Irene is going to be in my way. I was planning to get into the car with my husband, Roma the Dog, and Puppy the Cat this Friday to drive to Virginia. But.

Irene's path is the exact same path to drive from Florida to Virginia.

Sigh. See you soon.

My unhappy Roma

  2. Good luck with your move! Stay safe!
Be careful, Virginia had an earthquake 2 days ago, that I felt here in Ontario, Canada. We had tornado watch yesterday due to Irene and her effects.... so be safe!

  3. My God, we are in its path - Chincoteague off of Virginia. You don't want to come. We're scared senseless since we're on an island and don't know whether they are going to evacuate us or not. And to beat this, I have a cocker spaniel very very sick with cancer. I don't know what we're going to do.

  4. Oh, Natalie ... this s definitely the last thing one needs in the midst of a move (which, having just barely survived ours 3 weeks ago, I can truly sympathize). Hope all goes as well as possible for you!

  8. Stay safe! (At least you might have some extra time to read, right? Even if you have to do it by candelight??)

  9. Awful timing is right. Man proposes, God disposes. Just do the best you can and most of all, stay safe.

  15. Hey Natalie,
We just got the word that we have to evacuate where we live in Virginia Beach, so it looks like we're heading to Bristol, Virginia to spend the weekend with my sister-in-law. Stay put where you are and when you finally get here we'll chat over coffee.

  17. Hurricanes are so pesky! We deal with them regularly in the Gulf of Mexico's warm waters...stay very safe and don't take any chances :)

  19. No way! I am moving too -- but am on the other side of the country. I cannot imagine trying to do it AND compete with The Aforementioned Hussy (how dare she?!). You poor thing!

Love how your cat is named Puppy -- I tend to use that as a term of endearment for all animals; cats, horses, what-have-you!

  23. Irene is a cheap hussy to boot! Although it sucks it's the same weekend, at least you can wait until she passes. Hopefully driving won't be too bad, but please be careful and take it slow. My thoughts are with you and give Roma a few pets for me.

  24. Oh no! We have been watching the storm here too, and have been glad that it passed us by, but our good fortune seems to be your bad luck! I hope that the storm just blows itself out into the ocean, and that you are able to move comfortably very soon!

  25. Aww! Safe travels when you can squeeze past the hurricane. :)

  26. Oh that just SUCKS! Doesn't that just figure? I did not know (or remember) you were moving. Well, take a valium, close your eyes, and pray for the best. Love that picture of your puppy! Haha!

  27. O my gosh, be safe! I can't believe that is exactly where you are driving! Crazy!

  28. Sympathy from me! Hurricanes are such jerks. They don't even care if they mess up people's plans. I hope the move goes okay anyway!
